Our campus buzzed with excitement as we celebrated Grandparents Day and Alumni Weekend on September 13th and 14th, welcoming over 1,000 esteemed members of our community to our schools. The weekend was a vibrant showcase of our school’s mission to nurture the body, mind, and spirit of our students, and it highlighted the deep sense of community that defines us.

Grandparents Day: A Heartwarming Celebration

Grandparents Day was a truly special event, filled with joy and heartfelt moments. Students eagerly met their grandparents at Sacred Heart for Mass in the SH Gymasium. Over 800 individuals joined us for celebration of the Eucharist. Families then gathered for lunch, telling stories and recounting memories. Students were able to introduce their grandparents to teachers, friends, and the campus that they hold dear. The day ended with classroom visits and interactive events providing grandparents with a firsthand look at the daily lives of their grandchildren.

Grandparents are so special to us and we hope that by Grandparents Day, they feel the connection with the school community and are able to witness the growth and development of their beloved grandchildren.

Alumni Weekend: Reconnecting and Reminiscing

Alumni Weekend was a joyful reunion, bringing together graduates from various years and honoring a select group of individuals. The weekend kicked off with a welcome reception at the Knights football game where we honored the Class of 1984 celebrating their 40th class reunion. This was followed by a Knights Hall of Fame Brunch on Saturday morning where we inducted the following members into the Knights Hall of Fame.

  • 2005-2007 Softball Teams who held an undefeated, state-championship, record-breaking season. - They lost one game in 2005.  They held a 68 game winning streak over those three seasons.

  • Sister Pauline Kukula, long-time SHJSHS master educator

  • Robert Riordan, '60 - Vietnam Veteran, Civic Leader

  • Adelaide Easter, '21 - Truman Scholar

The brunch provided a space for reminiscing and reconnecting, with many sharing stories of how their time at our school shaped their personal and professional lives. School tours given after the program allowed alumni to see the exciting developments and changes on campus.

Hearing the success stories of our alumni and their expressions of gratitude is a testament to the lasting impact of our school’s education. It was a powerful reminder of the strong foundation we provide, preparing students for lifelong success.

Celebrating Our Mission: Body, Mind, Spirit

The events of the weekend were a vivid illustration of our school’s mission to form the body, mind, and spirit of our students. Through rigorous academic programs, diverse extracurricular activities, and a nurturing spiritual environment, we strive to develop well-rounded individuals who are equipped to excel in all facets of life.

A Community United

The impressive turnout for both Grandparents Day and Alumni Weekend highlighted the unwavering support and dedication of our community. It was inspiring to see multiple generations come together, reinforcing the bonds that make our school a unique and supportive environment for growth.

Looking Forward: Encouraging Continued Support
